Kids Day ~ FACTS About CPC

Fact Sheet about Child Protection Center

             In 2012 :

o     We provided 286 abuse assessments in Ross and surrounding counties

o     157 of the assessments were for Ross County

o     CPC has become re-accredited by the National Children's Alliance

o     Had child-friendly murals painted in our hallways at the center

o     Had 395 participants in the Families in Transition class

o     Provided Stewards training to 216 participants

o     Provided counseling services/referrals to over 300 children

Since the Supervised Visitation program began in 1999, we have seen over 170 children.  These children come to the clinic to meet with a non-custodial parent and are monitored every minute that  they are present with that parent.  Several years ago we

o   Installed a camera to observe the visits

o   Installed an outside play area for the children to play with their visiting parent when     weather permits.

Our Body Safety program was presented to kids in all the county schools and nearly all of the city schools.  This program started in 2000 and we work with over 5,300 children every year!

Parent Resource classes are being offered at CPC since July, 2003.  They have been very well received. The average size of the group is about 8 parents.

A couple years ago, CPC moved to its present location, started videotaping our interviews and began holding monthly meetings to discuss cases among all the participating agencies.  All these things have greatly improved the services delivered.
